Singapore Convention Week 2021

Overview

Since opening for signature in August 2019, the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, also known as the Singapore Convention on Mediation, has garnered 53 signatories. The Singapore Convention on Mediation, which entered into force on 12 September 2020, has 6 Parties to the Convention.

The Singapore Convention Week 2021, a series of events related to dispute resolution, is taking place from 6 to 10 September.

As part of the Singapore Convention Week, the inaugural UNCITRAL Academy is taking place on 7 and 8 September 2021 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore. The UNCITRAL Academy is co-organised by the Singapore Ministry of Law and UNCITRAL, and will comprise of the Singapore Convention Conference and UNCITRAL Academy Workshops. The UNCITRAL Academy of 2021 will bring together legal practitioners, dispute resolution specialists, business executives and government officials from around the world to discuss emerging issues relating to dispute resolution, and international trade law and business.
